Bawinanga Aboriginal Corporation (BAC) is a progressive Aboriginal corporation based in Maningrida that employs over 200 people. We represent and assist over 4000 Aboriginal people in the 32 homelands surrounding Maningrida in West Arnhem Land. Our work is carried out in the context of people’s traditional lands, cultural practices, and languages. Our services include new building and maintenance, road maintenance, arts, community development programs, collection of wild foods, and many more.
Job Description
This position is responsible delivering BAC Employment Services to ensure effective and efficient service delivery of employment services as per Bawinanga’s contractual requirements with the Australian Government. Currently we have 1,100 Job Seekers enrolled with our employment services the aim being to develop job plans with each regarding their skills and work development needs and determine their mutual obligations under work for the dole program.
The position reports directly to the Employment Services Manager.
This position is to service and assist our jobseekers to find sustainable employment outcomes through developing a Compliant Job Plan and referral to WFD activities.

Key Accountabilities
Servicing and assisting our Jobseeker into sustainable employment outcomes through developing a compliant Job Plan and referral to WFD activities.
Work effectively in a team environment
Adhere to the Workplace Health and Safety regulatory requirements
Identify continuous improvement opportunities
Develop and maintain positive stakeholder relationships with all BAC staff, and develop sound working relationships through delivering appropriate and honest support and/or feedback.
Ensure communications are appropriate to BAC Employees, Directors, Communities, Stakeholders and partner organisations.
Assisting Jobseekers into sustainable employment outcomes
Assist in the successful gaining of contractual KPI’s
Responsible for ensuring ALL BAC Job Seekers who require a Next Appointment have one.
Responsible for implementation of an orderly archiving and filing procedures for ALL BAC Jobseekers
Responsible for ensuring BAC mailing of ALL JS letters are completed daily
Prepare Resumes, maintain Servicing Calendars
Assist to maintain Activity Diaries
Any other duties requested by your supervisor which are within your capabilities.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
Essential:
Demonstrated experience working in a remote aboriginal community environment, with knowledge and understanding of aboriginal protocol and culture.
Experience in CDP, RJCP or any other recent employment based programs
A demonstrated understanding of CDP reporting requirements and processes together with the ability to interact with customers and clients in a professional manner.
Excellent time management skills
Demonstrated good communication skills as well as proven problem solving skills.
Demonstrate high level administration skills.
Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as being part of a small team.
National Police Clearance.
Desirable:
Experience working for a community development or not-for-profit organisation.
